Wood Deck & Tool Shed:

Deconstruction

​Purpose: To clear area to build an addition

Stage:

  1. Deconstruct Deck Section 2

  2. Remove nails & prepare for recycling/repurposing

  3. Deconstruct Deck Section 3

  4. Remove nails & prepare for recycling/repurposing

  5. Shut off power to deck lights and woodshed light and outlet

  6. Disconnect deck lights

  7. Deconstruct Deck Section 1

  8. Remove nails & prepare for recycling/repurposing

  9. Excavate deck support posts

  10. Confirm Woodshed power to light and outlet are off at the breaker box

  11. Clear out shed of contents

  12. Disconnect shed light and outlet

  13. Deconstruct shed...

    • Roof; Exterior walls; Frame; Floor

  14. Dig up outdoor electrical wiring to improving for "Addition Build"​

Sub-Level 1:

Deconstruct and Renovate Interior

​Purpose: To stop energy loss, eliminate moisture, and prepare for Makerspace use

Stage:

  1. Remove wood paneling and trim

  2. Remove drywall from walls and ceiling

  3. Remove insulation from walls

  4. Clean rodent/insect debris

  5. Remove wood studs from walls (or leave as is?)

  6. Repair and seal envelope cracks and holes with spray foam or concrete mix to eliminate rodent/insect access

  7. Plan ahead for oversized rear exit/entrance and stairs

  8. Affix Steel studs to wall (only if wood studs removed)

  9. Improve water and sewage plumbing

  10. Rewire room

  11. Insulate ceiling cavities with Mineral/Rockwool soundproofing

  12. Insulate wall cavities with Mineral/Rockwool

  13. Replace and upgrade electrical box/system

  14. Finish with Mineral/Rockwool Board, leaving "as-is", or

  15. Finish with a breathable clay-lime mix commonly used in Rammed Earth builds

  16. Alternative Option?:  Do not stud, insulate, or finish walls (leaving "as-is"), and waterproof and insulate exterior instead.

  17. Repair and seal concrete floor

Progress:  Completed 5% of Stage 1-2

​Purpose: To temperature control and prepare as a workshop for the Makerspace.

Stage:

  1. Remove drywall and insulation from walls and ceiling

  2. Clean rodent/insect debris

  3. Replace wood studs from walls with steel studs or leave as is?

  4. Repair and seal envelope cracks and holes with spray foam or concrete mix to eliminate rodent/insect access

  5. Insulate wall cavities with Mineral/Rockwool

  6. Finish with Mineral/Rockwool Board, leaving "as-is", or

  7. Finish with a breathable clay-lime mix commonly used in Rammed Earth builds

  8. Repair and seal concrete floor
